21 months - storytime

we can now FINALLY get through short stories with her without her getting distracted at the first page and running off. i think the story time training at school had helped with this, and of course my very animated story telling skills (ahem!).

we chanced upon this pip and posy book at the library awhile back and it hit all the right notes with h - colourful clear illustrations, stuff she can relate to (like the scooter, the playground, falling down, sandcastles), an interesting storyline that i could play up at every page ... more importantly, it was a good way of teaching her about asking permission and to be considerate of others. 

i subsequently bought it online at bookdepository. 

other stories that she currently enjoy include the ladybird series "swinging sally" (where she names all the gorillas in the book after her classmates and assigns them different colours) and "stripey sam".
