10 months - polar bear encounter

we saw the newly opened frozen tundra exhibit at the zoo for the first time over the weekend. it is a HUGE space for one polar bear, but i guess nothing can beat the wide open spaces that it could have enjoyed in the wild. admittedly, baby was more excited at seeing the huge polar bear model at the entrance of the exhibit rather than the actual polar bear itself. this was because the real bear spent most of its time on land, away from the glass viewing panels.

baby was in a very chirpy mood that afternoon (after having napped on the way to the zoo), so she was all smiles and would clap excitedly at almost anything that moved, including the row of orang utans during the 4.30pm feeding session. she also started mimicking the lion's growling halfway through the visit.

we also paid a visit to kidzworld to let her have some fun at the water play area. a necessary stop now that we know she is such a water lover. she's not scared of all the water sprays and buckets of water that suddenly tilt emptying large volumes of water on whoever happens to be below. i think she will LOVE this part of the zoo even more once she starts walking and can explore the other water play equipment on her own.
it was a great way to spend saturday afternoon!
