week 15 - boy or girl?

over the chinese new year holidays, my mum passed us a stack of red packets - half of the red packets had a cute drawing of a boy and the other half a girl. just for fun, ck tossed the stack and the girl red packet landed facing up. HAAAA.
yesterday at the doc's during the routine scan, baby was all chill like a cucumber, and looking really comfortable inside ... so the doc was able to check out the parts down under. when i saw what appeared on the screen i already more or less guessed the outcome .... and when the doc said "85% girl" i think i whooped quite loudly. heh. yaaaaaay! we have a healthy little baby girl that's growing bigger everyday inside me.
doc also said baby was growing well after measuring her head diameter and CRL. forgot to ask him for the measurements though. bah, we always forget to ask him questions when we are there.
as promised to my boss, i gave HR a heads up that i'd be out of action from late july .... a lot of things will have to wait because of this ... but as sam said when i told her that this baby was coming at a time when so many things at work (career progression stuff especially) had been set in motion, "God makes all things beautiful in His time". how true, and it is going to be beautiful.
finally having a little more faith that this pregnancy will turn out fine ... it really is feeling more real now. even though everyday that goes by without anything adverse happening still feels like a mini victory.
next milestone - the detailed scan at around 20 weeks which will probably include the scans and tests for the research study. this means getting to see baby for probably 30 minutes or more. YAY!
